Shooting is FUN at the Morristown Gun Club!
A BIT ABOUT THE MORRISTOWN GUN CLUB...MGC is an independent gun club with approx. 100 members -- not affiliated with Ahlmans except the club rents space on Ahlman's Range. Unlike large big city trap ranges, MGC has a more "small town" appeal. No high pressure to perform -- just a relaxed (fun) atmosphere with a great bunch of shooters..
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT Club members are big in community involvement -- especially youth firearms training. Groups such as Pheasants Forever Youth outings, Camp Omega religious camp's Firearms program, NSSF's "First Shots" and others count on the voluntary efforts of the Morristown Gun Club each year. Members are proud to support shooting and generously donate their time to these groups.
BEGINNERS WELCOME...If just starting out or you'd like advice from pros, just ask. The club has several veteran trapshooters with decades of experience who are always happy & willing to help new shooters. So, don't be bashful. Grab your shotgun and come over & give it a try.
TRAPSHOOTING...One of the features of the club is a "State of the art" regulation trapshooting range with all new automatic throwers and shooting lanes from 16 to 27 yards. Electronic voice activation insures consistency of pulls. League shooting is also available. Join a team or select your own team.
WOBBLE (Crazy Clays) A new addition to the club is the wobble range. Using a series of shooting stations at different heights, coupled with a trap machine that bobs & wobbles, makes this a demanding challenge. Your scores will suffer, but you'll laugh it off with a big smile each time you complete 25 rds. Wobble league shooting is also available
HOURS...The club is normally open twice a week (Sun. afternoon and Thur. evening) during warm weather months. Refer to the schedule elsewhere on this site for exact dates & times. Club meetings are held the 2nd Mon. evening of each month. For brave hearted souls, a winter league is also operated from Jan. to March. Winter shooting can get a bit chilly at times, but the club has an excellent (heated) clubhouse and a bottomless coffee pot.
COST...per 25 shot round is: Members...$5.00, Non-Members...$7.00, Youth...Members $3.00, non-members $5.00.. No extra fee for wobble trap. Price includes claybirds. You may furnish your own ammo or purchase ammo at the club.
